Q: How may I see the cool glslideshow after logging out again with gdm?

The permissions of /dev/nvidia* are set to 660 root:root even if I set the console.perms and nvidia.conf as recommended.

And I added gdm to the group video in /etc/group. -- Thanks Hank Jan-11-2005

Q: Do other DM's do this? Such as KDM? Karahd

Q: How can this be done without maxing out the CPU? I guess its an nvidia driver issue...

A: I havent had time to try this but you way try to do a nice 19 on it. I'll try this when I have some time then tell you for sure. -T0ny 08:55, 31 Mar 2005 (GMT)

Q: Does This Only Run When it is Visible, or does it eat CPU all the time...

Q: Is it possible to run xscreensaver on your root window instead of a background? maybe using XGL, Compiz, Beryl? bullring 05:52, 11 Nov 2006 (PST)

Problem: This causes KDM unable to start. It occurs since version 3.5.8 and up. The problem is associated with killall. Reference thread: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-631376.html
