While already knowing how to do this... I was wondering how you add exclusions. For instance Any http traffic on my local network should go straight to whatever server, but any http traffic outside of my local network should only go through the proxy server. [edit] Not the correct format!
The env settings need to be a full URL, not just a host name and port.
Should be of the form - http_proxy="http://proxy.server.com:8080/"
