I have added the extended partition stuff, hopefully it helps. Probably needs more work too. Added few links too.

[edit] Non NTFS filesystem

What filesystem should one pick in fstab if you want to run a non-NTFS Windows? 6? b-f? Something else? --Freso 18:51, 15 February 2006 (GMT)

What do you mean by non-NTFS windows? Windows 2000 or XP on FAT or Windows 3.11? In general, I would say c W95 FAT32 (LBA) should work, but then FAT32 is a novelty of W95, so you should use 6 FAT16 for 3.11 and older. And then, it is not impossible that Windows kindly rewrites a partition table that suits it (and trashes whatever else you had). Synss 22:26, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Installing Windows on /dev/sdc3

I already have 2 Gentoo installed on my computer. The first one is on /dev/sda and the second one on /dev/sdc. I still have some free space on sdc and I want to install Windows XP on /dev/sdc3.

Q: I wonder if Windows installer won't be confused when it will perform its first reboot. Does Windows installer install NTDLR in the MBR of the first hard drive (/dev/sda) or in the MBR of the drive where it is installed ?

(I don't mind booting a LiveCD, chrooting and re-installing Grub, but I'm not sure that Windows will be able to continue its installation process after its first reboot)
