I love the magnesium alloy case on these. Very durable. cmos batteries are beginning to fail and it takes one of those green sleeved 5-6 batteries in a row things but they are not too hard to replace. There is 64mb of "non upgradeable" ram in addition to the bottom ram slot but you can replace the 64mb module with something bigger. You just need to remove the plastic cover above the keyboard (press in 3 small plastic tabs on back of base) to uncover the keyboard screws, after removing the keyboard screws flip it up out of the way and remove 7 screws holding the combo CPU heatsink heat shield in place. The "onboard" ram module is there. It will take the low density (8 chip) 144pin sodimm modules but you might have to experiment a bit - just remember to reattach the cpu heatsink/heatshield before test booting. I've upgraded a couple with 128mb modules but haven't had a chance to try a 256 yet which is the maximum module for the bottom user accessible socket. The extra ram will allow you to successfully run newer operating systems and extend the useful life of these fine machines.

hmm, now I wonder if they will take a faster mobile P3 upga2 processor?
