[edit] What is that mascot?
And why does distribution have to have mascot?
In my opinion we do not have no use for it. so ram it!
- why? because that's funny,so we need to have one or use tux
- that is very important for promoting linux and arouse people interest in linux
- that also change the relationship between someone and linux
- 2 examples:
- someone see tux and find it funny and ask what it is
- a child use linux with tux and that change his relationship with computer
[edit] Gentoo support
there is at least another gentoo support company we also need to:
- track them all and add them here and on the official gentoo website
- make them contribute to gentoo, for example when they fix a client bug they need to commit it to gentoo(there is no special thing for theses companies and there should be...),a commercial advantage for it is that the client is more independant from the service provider and it's important because it's always a fear from the client(diverting from the official distrinution and be unable to be suported by another company in case of problem with the actual one)
[edit] About the installer
now there are more ways that just follow the handbook we need to add them here BUT we also need to know for what kind of people they are,on what livecd they , what to do if they are not on a livecd and such things...
[edit] Mascot image on the page is wrong
The current image, which should be Larry, is actually Barry. Barry has been on this page for a long time, and at some point someone changed his caption to Larry, but it's still the Barry image. My wiki-fu is too pathetic to fix this, sorry.
