[edit] Is there any useful information on this page?

I am wondering whether this page should simply redirect to the up-to-date compiz-fusion page to avoid confusion.

I agree, this page should be slated for removeal. -- JokerKingg

[edit] Scale plugin

The following is found here and only here: "Arrange and View Windows of the Same Application = F11 turns on or off; clicking a window will zoom it to the front" - But I can't find any information on this anywhere else, nor do I see it working. An elaboration of what plugin it relates to, whether it's Quinn or Vanilla Compiz, or a correction would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to use the feature.

This feature used to be known as expose, but it got changed to the name scale. You can configure the shortcut key used in either gconf-editor or csm. It defaults to F11 if you load the plugin scale. I use it daily and it works great for me!!

[edit] Changes to the compiz loading

It has come to my attention that to load compiz now, you don't need to write the script compiz-decorator and all that jazz, the ONLY thing I had to do on my computer was change the KDEWM variable to KDEWM=compiz-nvidia and it loads and works great so long as I've ran gconf-editor prior to loading it so it knows which plugins to load. My understanding is that compiz-xgl and compiz-aiglx work equally as well for the other two ways of running it, has anyone else had this experience?

[edit] Compiling Compiz from Freedesktop.org

You need to have the package gconf installed.

[edit] Page Information is Dated

This page is severely dated, I have added new instructions from my install of compiz today (2-23-07) However alot of the other information is probably wrong.

-- Yes, compiz e.g. doesn't require GNOME anymore.
