Talk:Apache Modules mod perl
From Gentoo Linux Wiki
I think this how-to may be obsolete now. mod_perl-2 is no longer package masked, and the default 75_mod_perl config contains the perl-status block. Anyone else?

As soon as I enable -D PERL in /etc/conf.d/apache2, apache fails to start. The ebuild of mod_perl should make it work "out of the box", without any messing around for hours trying to figure it out ~The Hunter
I'm starting to have an increasing aversion against gentoo.
"try emerge libperl" - man - I have re-emerged apache and perl and libperl ten times and still get
* Apache2 has detected a syntax error in your configuration files:
apache2: Syntax error on line 170 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 3 of /etc/apache2/modules.d/75_mod_perl.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_perl.so into server: /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_perl.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Ipatchlevel_ptr
This is sh*t! If this How-To is considered obsolete, then only because it does not work.
