[edit] Introduction
This article is intended for Linux users that are confronted with working in a Windows-only environment, as in public libraries or at work, where booting a Live CD is not acceptable, while accessing files from an USB Stick should conform to the rules. This page will also list portable open-source applications. Several solutions of running a ported Linux kernel within Windows (coLinux, andLinux) and indications to using a portable Cygwin will be listed.
Essentially, I would like that this page help Gentoo (read: Linux) users make use of familiar Linux or open-source applications within (Windows) environments with no installation permissions.
