[edit] General

NOTE: This page is based heavily on the Toshiba Satellite A100 article. Although they are closely related, following those instructions WILL NOT ALLOW FOR A BOOTABLE SYSTEM if installing Gentoo on an A100-TA1 due to SATA drivers.

[edit] BIOS

[edit] Description

This is a Phoenix BIOS, the one that Toshiba users complain about when they say that they don't have a "real" Toshiba. As a result, certain utilities to talk with the hardware won't work.

For Windows-based BIOS updates (I don't know of any that exist for linux), see the Toshiba website.
